ABOUT KÄSTLE
The famous and iconic Austrian ski brand Kästle has always paid for itself as a leader in its field, and every year this brand proves it again. We believe that just like our Kästle skis, accommodation at Kästle Residence will be the right choice for you.
The history of Kästle skis began in 1924, when the Austrian carver Anton Kästle made the first pair of skis in his workshop in Hohenems. Over the next decades, Kästle skis were represented by several professional skiers, such as Toni Sailer, the Epple sisters, Pirmin Zuzbriggen, Tom Stiansen and countless other legendary skiers, who won a total of 132 Olympic and World Cup medals on Kästle skis. In 1998, however, Kästle skis suddenly, and to everyone's great surprise, completely disappeared from the market.
In 2007, thanks to the Rudolf Knünz investment group, the Kästle brand returned to the international scene and again set the direction for the entire ski industry. In 2015, production and the entire brand moved back to his native Austrian Hohenems.
In 2018, the Czech company Consil Sport became the new majority owner of Kästle. The owner is a successful businessman and former racing skier and ski expert Tomáš Němec. In 2019, a substantial part of the production of Kästle skis began to be produced in Nove Mesto na Morave. The local New Town factory, formerly known as SPORTEN, which belongs to the same owner, has thus become one of the centers of world ski production. However, SPORTEN skis continue to exist in the ski world.
In 2021, the Kästle Residence was built in the center of Nove Mesto na Morave. With a vision to create a modern and pleasant place not only for passionate skiers and athletes, but for everyone who wants to enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the heart of the Vysocina.
